Description
It is a Kasuri pattern with a pattern of arrow feathers. As an arrow shot with a bow does not return, this pattern is said to have been used to prepare for a bride in the Edo period with an yagasuri kimono, meaning “I will not return”. It is said to be a good luck pattern because of the fact that it does not return and that it goes straight ahead. From the Meiji to Taisho era, the yagasuri gusuri kimono and the Ebibibai hakama were popular as a standard costume for female students.
